/         3500 FALL 2007

The studio will focus on the study of architecture at three scales- urban, building, and envelope. With-in each of these, the student will research information as an integral component of an architectural concept. A rigorous pursuit of the making of architecture through model and drawing is required at each of these scales. The study of fundamental architectural topics will help assimilate the broad set of issues that must be considered when designing a building. Topics include threshold/entry, hierarchy, scale, and sequence of spaces. A conceptual and thorough examination of structure, material, and environmental systems is critical to an assimilated design process.
